Planning

The two primary areas for future housing in the Clondalkin area relate to Kilcarbery and Clonburris, which is a newly proposed neighbourhood. Clonburris is a 280 hectare development area located to the north of Clondalkin village and has been designated by the Government as a Major Urban Housing Development site, which will see over 8,000 homes built.

The new Clonburris neighbourhood proposes a comprehensive housing development scheme, complete with train stations, 8 schools, community amenities, public parks, shopping facilities, as well as new cycleways and walkways.  The Planning Scheme for Clonburris is currently on appeal to An Bord Pleanála; further details on Clonburris can be found on its dedicated website here.

Kilcarbery, located to the west of Clondalkin village is a South Dublin County Council led intergrated housing project that will deliver more than 1,000 residential dwellings. The project is still at planning stage, with construction due to commence in early 2019.
